The Leribe Magistrate’s Court has identified two men after they were arrested for transporting 39 small-stock animals without the required documentation at Ha Lejone.
The two men, Mohloki Kometsane and Mafose Lethakha from Malingoaneng, Mokhotlong, were apprehended by police while transporting sheep and goats in a truck at Ha Lejone, Leribe.
When they appeared in court on Monday, they told the court that the person responsible for registering the livestock documentation had been hospitalized.
Police emphasize that it is a criminal offense to transport livestock without proper documents, as it raises suspicion of livestock theft. The police has therefore urged the public to be vigilant and aware of this offense.
