With the aim of empowering youth and creating job opportunities, the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) has launched a campaign titled “Re bonts’e Lesotho” and through this initiative, young people are encouraged to promote their local villages and districts in Lesotho using digital platforms.
The head of strategic Marketing LTDC Mr. Phomolo Lebitsa, said all youth will be given a chance to become content creators loosely translated ‘Maka litaba’ in Sesotho to work with private businesses to market their districts in a competitive process involving participants from all ten districts of the country.
In line with this, LTDC has signed a partnership with ‘Melesi Lodge, a business that will collaborate with content creators in Maseru district to promote and showcase beautiful tourist sites, contributing to the visibility of the district.
Speaking on behalf of M’elesi Lodge, Ms. ‘Mamotjaka Makara expressed her excitement about being part of the “Re bonts’e Lesotho” campaign, which uses youth to market the country—an initiative closely aligned with the work they already do.
