King Letsie III has underscored the importance of transparency and cooperation in major public projects, during the official opening of the Senqu Bridge, the largest of its kind in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, the King said the bridge, built over the Senqu River in Mokhotlong, represents not only physical infrastructure development but also a shared vision and strong ties between Lesotho and South Africa.
Meanwhile, South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa said the project would benefit both nations, contributing to water transfer efforts, job creation and skills development for those involved.
The Chief Executive of the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority, Tente Tente, added that beyond compensation for displaced communities, the authority is committed to supporting livelihoods and community development initiatives aimed at improving living standards.
