The Public Relations Officer of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Mrs. ’Marafaele Mohloboli, says the commission has experienced noticeable improvement since she joined a month and two weeks ago.
Speaking to Mohale FM, Mrs. Mohloboli said when she arrived, she observed disorder, lack of respect among staff, and poor coordination between the IEC and some media institutions. She added that, in the past, information was often shared through improper channels, leading to confusion and miscommunication.
Mrs. Mohloboli clarified that the selection of IEC commissioners is not handled directly by the commission itself, Instead, the IEC only provides guidance in the process, a misunderstanding that has previously caused confusion among the public. She further outlined the stages involved in the recruitment of election commissioners.
She concluded by emphasizing that her main goal is to strengthen coordination within the IEC and to ensure smooth operations, adding that she will require additional support to perform her duties effectively and efficiently.
