Census Kick-Starts in Four Districts

Although April 12 had been announced as the official start date for the 2026 Housing and Population Census nationwide, this has not been fully realized, as only four districts have begun the process while others have yet to start counting.

Bureau of Statistics Director, Mrs. ’Malehloa Molato, confirmed that enumeration has commenced in only four districts being Berea, Quthing, Qacha’s Nek, and Botha-Bothe.

She explained that in the remaining six districts, the training of enumerators is scheduled to begin today, which will consequently delay the start of counting in those areas.

Mrs. Molato attributed the delay to the late release of the lists of enumerators, which were only issued on Friday.
