New MISA Lesotho Leadership Pledges to Restore Professionalism in Media Sector

The newly elected Chairperson of the Media Institute of Southern Africa Lesotho chapter, Khotsofalang Koloi, has emphasized the need for the new leadership to assess and strengthen professionalism within the media industry. He noted that growing competition in the sector has exposed several shortcomings that must now be addressed.

In an interview with Mohale FM, Koloi stated that, as part of efforts to restore the dignity of the media, the organization plans to revive press clubs. These platforms will enable journalists and reporters to collaborate, exchange ideas, and support one another in a constructive and respectful environment.

He further highlighted that a key priority for the new leadership will be the introduction of training workshops aimed at improving operational standards, in line with the evolving media landscape.

MISA Lesotho held its elective conference over the weekend, where Koloi was elected Chairperson. He will be deputized by Lesooana Moeti, while Selloane Nyakane was elected Secretary, assisted by Ts’epang Pheello. The position of Treasurer was taken by Noliwe Tlamane, with additional committee members including Likopo Koloi and ’Mants’ali Phakoana.
