Man Sentenced to Eight Years for Sexual Assault of Minor

The Qachasnek’s magistrate’s court has sentenced a 30-year-old man, Monts’i Makhetha of Mpiti Moreneng to 8 years’ imprisonment without the option of a fine, after convicting him of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. The offence occurred on the 26th March this year.

In a separate incident, police in Mafeteng are investigating an incident involving a 14-year-old boy accused of sexually assaulting his 5-year-old sister.

Sup. Mohai stated that the alleged assault took place on the night of 21 March 2026, and the matter was reported to the police the following morning.

Investigations into the Mafeteng case are ongoing.
