Bale finally earns a Likuena call-up

AFTER years of patience and dedication to football, Machokha defender, Paseka Bale has finally earned his debut senior national team call-up to Likuena. Bale is among the latest additions to the Likuena provisional squad preparing for the crucial 2027 preliminary round qualifier double-header against Seychelles, scheduled for 26 and 29 March 2026 at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Other new players added to the squad include Katleho Koeana and Sanele Phantše of LMPS FC, Thabo Mafatle of Bantu, Tšepo Toloane of LDF, Mpho Teele of Lijabatho and Tsotang Malesela of Manonyane. The additions were confirmed by the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA).

Among the new call-ups, Bale’s inclusion has particularly excited football fans, many of whom believe the defender had long deserved a chance in the national team.

In a recent interview, Likuena coach, Bob Mafoso, said he was working to build a high-energy team driven by hunger and unity, while also creating an inclusive environment for both locally based and foreign-based players.

He emphasised that the door remained open for further additions to the squad.
