Bohlokoa Konyana of Ha Tsolo in Maseru has appeared before the Maseru Magistrate’s Court, facing two charges of theft and one charge of sexual assault.
Police Constable Bosielo Rasupu told the court that Konyana was apprehended on the 16th of December after being sought by the police for a prolonged period.
Constable Rasupu stated that police received a report earlier in February this year from a 32-year-old man from Thaba Bosiu, who resides at Ha Tsolo.
The complainant alleged that Konyana forcefully stole cash amounting to one thousand six hundred maloti.
He further indicated that this was not an isolated incident. Investigations have revealed that on the 28th of September 2025, a 28-year-old man from Ha Tsolo allegedly had three thousand three hundred maloti stolen by the accused while they were at a local pub.
It is reported that eyewitnesses attempted to stop the accused, but he allegedly responded violently and resisted their efforts.
In addition, the accused is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman from Ha Tsolo. According to police, the victim was threatened with a knife and warned that she would be stabbed to death if she made noise or called for help.
Bohlokoa Konyana has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court again on a date yet to be announced.
