AD party members want Rapapa out

Disgruntled members of the Alliance for Democrats (AD), which is part of the ruling coalition, have penned no-confidence letters in party leader, Professor Ntoi Rapapa and his Executive Committee.

Mr Rapapa’s executive committee has been served with 10 letters from different constituencies, all stressing that they have lost confidence in their administration of the party.

Some constituencies’ secretaries and chairpersons claim that the executive committee has not provided party members with financial reports for over three years.

Prof Rapapa reportedly called secretaries of constituencies who submitted the letters, asking them to withdraw them or risk losing the opportunities they enjoy, including government jobs for members or their children and their vehicles being hired by the government.

Contacted for comment last night, Prof Rapapa denied the allegations, dismissing them as “political games”.
