Fifteen Enterprises Pitch to Investors as Incubation Programme Concludes

A delegation of potential investors including Prime Minister Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane have heard from fifteen enterprises who recently completed an incubation programme and are now seeking funding towards their businesses.
The presentations, held under the guise “Demo Day” rounded up the last leg of the incubation programme facilitated by the Competitiveness and Financial Inclusion Project, a department under Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Through the programme, 54 enterprises underwent rigorous training under the mentorship of industrial experts in business, law and finance.
During Monday’s presentations held in Maseru, only the selected 15 managed to pitch their ideas and funding requisitions in front of a room full of potential investors comprising among others LNDC representatives, World Bank, Ministry of Mining as well as South African companies.
Among the enterprises, a digital payment platform company which has garnered over five thousand users since its establishment in 2020 was asking for over M5 million Maloti to enable the business to remit Cross-border transactions.
Pay Lesotho Founder and CEO Lerato Masupha demonstrated his company had prospects for higher growth with the necessary financial backing it required.
Monday’s presentations also included businesses such as clothing companies such as Iconics and Thethana as well as Lema Agrivest, Pencil manufacturing company Pasa as well as a father and son led company, Leather and Sole Works among other the presenters.
