MISA Lesotho Honours 18 Long-Serving Journalists

MISA Lesotho has awarded 18 veteran journalists in recognition of their longstanding commitment and vital contributions to the growth and development of the country’s media industry.
During the awards ceremony, MISA Chairperson Khotsofalang Koloi emphasized the importance of honoring those who laid the groundwork for current journalists. He highlighted that the media industry’s challenging history was shaped by the resilience and perseverance of these pioneers, who endured numerous hardships to create a safer environment for future generations.
One of the honoured veterans, Meko Phohleli, reflected on the demanding nature of journalism, noting that the profession requires balancing the interests of the public with the safety of journalists. He acknowledged that the work often involves making tough choices, including risking personal safety to ensure that critical information reaches the public.

The ceremony served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by media veterans and underscored the ongoing challenges faced by journalists in Lesotho.
