Lesotho to Host Regional Education Assessment Conference

Lesotho through the Examinations Council of Lesotho (ECoL) will host the 15th Southern Africa Association for Educational Assessment (SAAEA) Conference in Maseru from June 15 to 18.
The regional conference will be held under the theme: “Advancing Responsive Educational Assessments for Diverse Learners’ Needs in the Digital Era.”
Speaking on the significance of the event, ECoL Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mokhitli Khoabane said the conference will provide Lesotho with a platform to engage with regional and international experts on advancing educational assessment.
Dr. Khoabane indicated that as the country navigates the digital era, it is essential that our assessment systems remain inclusive, credible and responsive to the diverse needs of learners, therefore this conference will contribute significantly to strengthening assessment practices both locally and across the region.
He added that the conference is expected to bring together educational assessment professionals, researchers, policymakers and scholars from across Southern Africa to discuss emerging trends and best practices in educational assessment and research.
