UNFPA Boosts Disability Inclusion with Braille SRHR Materials

Written by on November 14, 2025

UNFPA Lesotho, in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development, has handed over 300 Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) handbooks in Braille, audio, and large print to youth with visual impairments at the National University of Lesotho.
The materials aim to close the information gap that exposes youth with disabilities to higher risks of HIV, sexual exploitation, and Gender-Based Violence.
The Minister of Gender, Youth, and Social Development, honourable Pitso Lesaoana emphasized that while the country is working tirelessly to promote inclusion for all, young people with disabilities must also participate in initiatives like Sebabatso, which support youth innovation and economic inclusion.
Meanwhile, the National University of Lesotho Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Olushola Fajana, said the handover aligns with the University’s mission to promote inclusive, equitable education for all.

The event brought together advocates and officials committed to building accessible health and education systems in Lesotho.
