Mohale FM A representative of Chief of Ha Mosamo in Rothe, Ms. ‘Mapuleng Mosamo, says the community continues to face severe water shortages, as households have no access to piped water and must walk long distances to reach nearby sources.
She said only a few families own water tanks and rely on rainwater when it is available, but many still struggle to get enough water, particularly during drought seasons.
Speaking to Mohale FM, Ms. Mosamo recalled that a protected spring and a water tank powered by a pump were once installed to supply the village. However, she said the system has since stopped working after the pump was stolen by some community members.
She has therefore appealed to development partners and the government to assist Ha Mosamo with reliable water infrastructure connections.
