India Association of Lesotho offers free medical services

The India Association of Lesotho (IAL) conducted a free medical outreach programme in Thaba-Tseka yesterday, providing essential health services to local residents. The initiative aimed to improve access to healthcare in remote areas and strengthen community well-being.
According to the organizers, the outreach included medical check-ups, consultations, and distribution of basic medicines.
By the day’s end, at least 2000 patients had been seen by the dedicated team of specialists who had offered various testing and treatment stations varying from blood pressure, HIV and Counselling and X-ray among other services.
In his address, IAL President Biju Abraham Korah, said the initiative was in fulfilment of the objectives of the association whose aim was to uplift the livelihoods of Basotho as well as Indian nationalities living in Lesotho.
He said this year alone, this was the third event undertaken where previous initiatives had seen around 1500 patients showing up respectively.
Mr Korah said that the selfless act needed no repayment as AIL remained committed to supplementing the efforts of the Lesotho health care system to drive towards an ailment free nation.
In his address, the Minister of Health Hon. Selibe Mochoboroane applauded AIL for extending services to out of reach areas such as Mant’sonyane that had a few health facilities.
Mochoboroane further announced that plans were underway to erect a clinic at Senqunyane village.
