Matekane calls for universal digital connectivity at APRM Summit

Prime Minister, Sam Matekane, has urged African leaders to prioritise digital connectivity to ensure the continent is not left behind in the fast-changing global economy.

Delivering a keynote address yesterday at the African Peer Review Mechanism Summit, which brought together heads of state, international organisations, and top business leaders, Prime Minister Matekane said Africa must harness its abundant resources to remain competitive.

He stressed that every country and household should be digitally connected, noting that even people in remote areas should be able to trade, communicate, and exchange knowledge globally — including with major hubs like New York.
