Alexander Zverev has won his first US Open men’s singles title after defeating American Ben Shelton in four sets in New York.
The top seed prevailed 6-3, 7-6, 5-7, 6-2, ending Shelton’s run and adding the US Open crown to his French Open triumph earlier in 2026. Zverev controlled much of the match with disciplined serving and baseline pressure before closing out the fourth set.
The victory gives the German another major title and caps a strong season at the top of the men’s game.
