Zimbabwe’s gold deliveries rose sharply in August, strengthening the country’s drive to lift mineral output and foreign-currency earnings.
The Herald reported that deliveries reached about 5.11 tonnes during the month, up 20.68 percent from roughly 4.24 tonnes a year earlier. Total deliveries for January through August stood at about 31.17 tonnes, with small-scale producers accounting for close to 72 percent of the total.
Zimbabwe is targeting at least 50 tonnes of gold output in 2026, while current projections indicate production could reach about 55 tonnes if the present momentum continues.
