Hundreds of Zimbabwean civil servants have gathered in Gwanda for the 2026 Inter-Ministerial Sports and Arts Festival, which brings together participants from more than 40 government ministries.
The Herald reports that the event runs from 11 to 18 September under the theme ‘Healthy nation, productive workforce’. Competitions include football, athletics, netball, volleyball, tug-of-war, chess, darts and road running, while arts events will feature modelling, choirs, traditional performances and a national fabric fashion show.
Organisers say the festival combines workplace wellness with cultural exchange and gives Matabeleland South an opportunity to showcase its heritage. Vice-President Kembo Mohadi is expected to preside over the official ceremony at Pelandaba Stadium on 16 September.
