Zambia Police Service has dismissed a circulating social-media claim that 1,180 people are being held in Lusaka cells on politically motivated charges.
Assistant Public Relations Officer Timothy Malumo told Mwebantu that the figures were false and urged the public to verify information on arrests and investigations through official police channels. Police also warned against deliberately circulating misleading claims about its operations.
