Three City of Windhoek councillors have apologised to chief executive Moses Matyayi and withdrawn allegations they made about his official travel. The councillors acknowledged that claims concerning overseas trips and related costs had not been adequately verified before being made public. They said they regretted the harm caused and committed themselves to avoiding false or unverified statements in future. The development follows public debate over accountability and governance at the municipality.
