Mohale FM Vodacom Lesotho has issued a public warning over what it believes to be a fraudulent scam targeting members of the public.
The telecommunications company says it has become aware of a message currently being circulated among Basotho that has no affiliation with Vodacom Lesotho.
In a statement issued across its social media pages, the company advised customers to rely only on its official communication channels for announcements and promotional information, stressing that these channels remain consistent and do not change.
Vodacom Lesotho has further urged the public not to open messages received from unidentified or suspicious sources that do not clearly display a legitimate telephone number or official Vodacom Lesotho address. The company warned that such messages may redirect users to suspicious websites, exposing them to potential cyber threats.
The company believes the scam is part of a scheme by cybercriminals seeking to exploit unsuspecting customers, particularly those with limited awareness of online security risks.
