Senior United States and Iranian officials held talks at the United Nations in New York on Tuesday, marking their first discussions since a ceasefire between the two countries broke down in June.
The talks were mediated by Qatar and involved Iran’s Foreign Minister and US President Donald Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff.
No breakthrough has been reported, although Witkoff described the discussions as constructive and promising. Iran has reiterated its demand for the US to end what it calls acts of aggression.
