Three Appear in Court for Sexual Abuse of 13-Year-Old Girl

A 45-year-old woman, her 29-year-old partner, and her 17-year-old son have appeared before the Maseru Magistrate’s Court facing charges of sexually abusing the woman’s 13-year-old daughter.
Reports indicate that the abuse had been ongoing for an extended period, and that the mother was aware that both the man and her son were sexually assaulting the child but failed to report the matter to the police.
The woman also faces an additional charge of child neglect, as she was reportedly frequently intoxicated throughout the period during which the abuse occurred.
In a separate incident,
Pitso Ground police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman from Marabeng, who allegedly died from complications following an illegal abortion.
According to reports, the deceased, a second-year tertiary student, had approached a foreign doctor for assistance in terminating her pregnancy. The doctor allegedly performed the procedure, but the following day, the young woman began to feel unwell.
When she returned to the doctor, her condition reportedly worsened, and she later passed away. The police were alerted, responded swiftly to the scene, collected the body, and launched an investigation into the incident.
