Teenage Girl Abducted and Sexually Assaulted in Leribe

A 14-year-old girl was abducted and allegedly raped in Linotsing Ha Mokokoana, Leribe, on Monday night. The victim, a student at a local school in Hlotse, was reportedly abducted by unidentified man while walking home through fields near Ha Lenyekoane village at around 7pm.

According to reports, the suspect held the girl captive under a tree and sexually assaulted her throughout the night. She was discovered the following morning by a woman escorting children to school, walking home unclothed. Her clothes were recovered later at the scene.

The victim, who is said to have underlying health conditions, has since been hospitalised and is receiving medical care. Sergeant Ramakatsa of St. Monica’s Police Post confirmed the incident, adding the perpetrator remains at large.
