Wool and mohair broker Stone Shi has started repaying about 11 million maloti owed to farmers from the 2019/20 wool season.
Shi has made his first payment of 1.07 million maloti to Luma Shearing Shed in Mafeteng and says weekly payments will be made to 11 affected shearing sheds.
He expects to clear the debt by September 29.
Shi says the original delay was caused by shipping permit problems, while the Office of the Prime Minister says negotiations are progressing.
