Standard Lesotho Bank hosts 16th Annual Career Expo to inspire future leaders

Standard Lesotho Bank has hosted its 16th Annual Career Expo at the Manthabiseng Convention Centre, empowering young people as they prepare to choose their career paths and transition into tertiary education.
Speaking at the event, the bank’s Marketing Manager, Lintle Monare, encouraged students to remain focused and resilient despite challenges they may face at home or in their academic journey. She urged learners to surround themselves with driven and successful individuals and to stay mindful of the purpose of their education in order to achieve long-term success.

Acting Director of the National Manpower Development Secretariat, Thabo Ntoi, highlighted that the institution provides loans to Basotho students pursuing higher education both locally and internationally, with a 50 percent repayment requirement upon completion of studies.
He encouraged students to consider science- and mathematics-related fields, stressing their importance in creating employment opportunities and reducing unemployment in the country.

Mr Ntoi added that the Secretariat currently sponsors students in countries including China, Cuba, India and South Africa, urging learners to work hard to improve their chances of securing sponsorship.
Also addressing the learners, Moloi Mokete, an electronic engineer at the Lesotho Communications Authority, advised students to strive for academic excellence and prepare thoroughly for examinations.

He emphasised the importance of consistent practice in mathematics, noting that accuracy and early preparation are key to success. Mr Mokete further recommended setting dedicated study hours before classes begin and encouraged students to pursue courses they will not regret in the future.
The 16th Annual Career Expo provided learners with valuable guidance and motivation, equipping them to make informed decisions about their future and inspiring them to become tomorrow’s leaders.
