Eswatini could face sanctions after the giant screen at Somhlolo National Stadium was not used during recent CAF interclub matches, despite the venue’s Category Three approval.
The Times of Eswatini reported that the screen had been tested and was functional, but remained blacked out during matches involving Green Mamba and Nsingizini Hotspurs. Match commissioner Tebalo Mpiti observed the issue and indicated it would form part of his report to CAF.
The stadium’s compliance with competition requirements will now be closely watched as Eswatini seeks to retain approval for continental fixtures.
