SolidarMed launches health days for children with Cerebral Palsy

SolidarMed, through its Leap Start Project, has launched a series of Health Days aimed at supporting children living with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and their families following last week’s disability inclusion training.

The first Health Day was held in Botha-Bothe, where caregivers received training on the five components of Early Childhood Development (ECD). The initiative equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills to better support the growth and development of children living with Cerebral Palsy.

According to SolidarMed, the Health Days form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen support systems for children with disabilities and improve their overall well-being.

The next Health Day is scheduled for 17 August at the Botha-Bothe Community Youth Centre. The programme is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development, the Lesotho National Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD), the Recycling and Mobility Rehabilitation Organisation (RMRO), and the Botha-Bothe District Health Management Team.

SolidarMed says the initiative seeks to ensure that children living with disabilities have access to the care, support and opportunities they need to thrive.
