Basotho National Party stalwart ‘Machere Seutloali has confirmed leaving behind the party to join the current Revolution for Prosperity movement amid stating the decision has been difficult.
In an interview with Mohale Fm yesterday, Ms Seutloali compared the departure as an important turning point, similar to when a child moves out of home to begin adulthood. Ms Seutloali has been a strong figure throughout her BNP lifespan; having been a leader of the youth league for the longest time as well as becoming a member of parliament representing BNP.
She has however vehemently denied joining RFP because of benefits, saying no personal benefits have been dangled before her to entice her move to the party.
Meanwhile, a member of BNP, Tsepo Rajane said Seutloali’s departure was no surprise, stating without elaborating further that circumstances within the party were no longer conducive for her to continue with the party.
