South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has taken Pretoria’s trade and investment agenda to the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, where leaders are meeting under India’s chairship. South Africa says it will use the summit to push for stronger intra-BRICS trade and investment, industrialisation, infrastructure development and reforms to global institutions. Ramaphosa is also expected to take part in business engagements aimed at expanding commercial links between South Africa and India. The talks come as Pretoria looks to use BRICS partnerships and the African Continental Free Trade Area to attract investment and strengthen African infrastructure and value chains.
