President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for increased Indian investment in South Africa’s critical-minerals, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.
Addressing an India-South Africa business roundtable in New Delhi, Ramaphosa said the country wants investment that expands local value chains and industrial capacity. More than 150 Indian companies have already invested over $10 billion in South Africa and created more than 18,000 jobs, according to figures cited at the event.
South Africa is also promoting a pipeline of strategic infrastructure projects as it seeks deeper economic ties with India and stronger private-sector participation.
