Namibia has sent a 17-member team of young professionals to Shanghai to represent the country at the 48th WorldSkills competition.
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah used the team’s send-off to underline the role of technical and vocational education in Namibia’s economic transformation. She said stronger skills development is essential for preparing young people for emerging industries and improving their prospects in a changing labour market.
