Mozambique’s private sector says economic activity strengthened in the second quarter, with the Confederation of Economic Associations reporting an improvement in its macroeconomic environment index. Business leaders cited a modest recovery in demand, relatively stable exchange-rate conditions and more favourable interest rates as factors supporting activity. The CTA said the indicator rose from 55% to 58%, although companies continue to operate in a challenging environment. The organisation says improved access to credit and stronger domestic demand remain important for sustaining momentum.
