Monokoane Urges Housing Corporation to Allow Crop Harvest Amid Hunger Crisis

The Peka #17 legislator, Honorable Mohopoli Monokoane, has called on the Lesotho Housing Corporation to show compassion by giving him and the Maputsoe community time to harvest crops from their fields.

In an interview with Mohale FM, Monokoane stressed that the situation is urgent, as many community members are facing severe hunger. He warned that denying them access to their crops would be devastating, likening it to taking away their only means of survival.

His remarks come amid ongoing disputes over the ownership of the fields, involving both himself and the legislator for Teya-Teyaneng.

Efforts to obtain a response from the Teya-Teyaneng legislator were unsuccessful, as he could not be reached for comment.
