Mojapela flees

OUTSPOKEN opposition leader Teboho Mojapelahas fled the country and vowed not to return until after the next general elections because Prime Minister Sam Matekane’s government wants to “kill’ him.

The development comes after Adv Mojapela, the leader of the Socialist Revolutionaries (SR) party, was summoned by the police’s Operation Fiela team, allegedly in connection with investigations linking him to the possession of illegal firearms.

However, Adv Mojapela, a Member of Parliament (MP) for Motete constituency, Botha-Bothe District, dismisses the allegations of illegal weapons possession as a smokescreen to target him for his outspokenness against corruption which he claimshas become entrenched in Prime Minister Sam Matekane’s administration.

Adv Mojapela, alongside Basotho National Party leader, Machesetsa Mofomobe, has been leading the charge against Mr Matekane’s government accusing the Prime Minister and his ministers of facilitating government tenders for their cronies and family members.
