Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has referred the Zimsec Amendment Bill back to Parliament for reconsideration. The proposed law is intended to strengthen examination security and introduce tougher penalties for cheating, including offences involving smart devices and collusion. Parliament will now have to revisit the President’s concerns and reconsider the relevant clauses before the legislation can proceed. The Bill forms part of efforts to protect the integrity of national examinations and respond to evolving methods of malpractice.
