Relations between the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI) and the American Embassy were strengthened yesterday, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Maseru.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister, the Principal Secretary, Mr. Kanono Ramashamole, said the MoU would significantly enhance cooperation between the two parties, and emphasised the importance of establishing the American Corner at the State Library, noting that it aligns with the Ministry’s strategic goals.
Meanwhile, the American Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, Mr. Thomas Hines, noted that bilateral relations between the two nations date back to 1966 when Lesotho gained independence. He welcomed the MoU, saying it reflects continued commitment to collaboration and thanked the Ministry for the opportunity to support youth development through the American Corner.
