The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development has launched a Business Resilience Fund under the CAFI Project to support businesses affected by crises and the impacts of climate change.
The announcement was made during a media briefing held at the ministry’s headquarters in Maseru yesterday.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Trade, Industry and Business Development Motlatsi Maqelepo said the fund is open to legally registered businesses, including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
He said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing the country’s business sector and enhancing the resilience of local enterprises.
Mr Maqelepo said the fund has been allocated US$68 million, with the programme covering 80 percent of eligible project costs, while beneficiary businesses will contribute the remaining 20 percent.
