Matlabe leaves Lioli

Lioli defender Matlabe has become the latest player to part ways with the Teyateyaneng-based outfit during the current transfer window.
The national team defender joined Tse Nala ahead of the 2025/26 season on a one-year contract from South Africa’s Mpheni Home Defenders, who compete in the ABC Motsepe League.
A source has confirmed to Mohale FM that the two parties failed to agree on a contract renewal, with the player reportedly interested in returning to South Africa.
Earlier today, Matlabe took to his official Facebook page to bid farewell to the club, thanking the Lioli management, technical team and supporters for what he described as the “beautiful moments” they shared during his time at the club.
His departure adds to a growing list of players who have already left Lioli, including Sihle Maso, Sechaba Mohapi, Nkoto Masoabi, Lits’epe Marabe, Rets’epile Khubetsoana and Ts’oanelo Koetle, as the club continues its squad reshuffle ahead of the new season.
