Man charged for sexually abusing children

Mpiti Sehloho (19) of Ha ‘Mapotsane, Mohale’s Hoek, appeared before the Mohale’s Hoek Magistrate’s Court on 13 July 2026, charged with the alleged rape of a child.
Sehloho is being held at the Correctional Service while awaiting trial and is expected to appear in court again on 27 July 2026.
Sergeant Mokhoebi Lehloenya of the Mohale’s Hoek Child and Gender Protection Unit said the unit received a report on 10 July 2026 alleging that Sehloho had raped a 12-year-old girl.

He said investigations indicate that on the day of the alleged incident, the complainant was walking with other children near a thicket in Ha Sankatana village when they encountered the accused.
According to police, the accused allegedly produced a knife and threatened the children who were with the complainant, causing them to run away. Police further allege that he dragged the complainant into the donga, where he sexually assaulted her.
