Parliamentary investigations in Malawi have been suspended after a court injunction ordered committees probing a series of matters to stop work.
The Office of Speaker Sameer Suleman confirmed that the committees had been instructed to halt their investigations with immediate effect following a legal challenge brought by citizen Austin Mkoka.
The suspension leaves the parliamentary probes in limbo while the court process continues, with no confirmed date for when the committees may resume their work.
