LNDC CEO Defends Hiring of Corporate Services General Manager Before PAC

The Chief Executive Officer of the Lesotho National Development Corporation
(LNDC), Mr. Molise Ramaili, has rejected suspicions raised by the Public Accounts
Committee (PAC) regarding the alleged improper hiring of the General Manager of
Corporate Services, Mr. Thabang Busa.

Appearing before the PAC on Tuesday this week, Ramaili stated that LNDC followed
the correct recruitment procedures, including advertising the position in
collaboration with a consultant. The consultant concluded that all 12 applicants for
the position lacked the necessary experience for the role.

The Chairperson of PAC, Honourable ‘Machabana Lemphane Letsie, said there is
nothing convincing enough to suggest that the hiring of Thabang Busa was not
influenced by the LNDC CEO together with the then Human Resources Manager,
Mr. Rethabile Thamae.
LNDC is expected to appear again before the PAC on Wednesday and Thursday this
week to respond to concerns raised by the Auditor General.
