LIA and Botho University Forge Partnership to Strengthen Accounting Education

The Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA) and Botho University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding access to quality education and mentorship for students pursuing careers in the accounting profession.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Maseru yesterday, Botho University Country Head, ‘Makhosi Hlalele, said the partnership seeks to equip students not only with academic knowledge but also with the ethical values and leadership skills needed to thrive in the profession. She said the collaboration would combine the strengths of academia and the accounting profession to create opportunities for students and practitioners to acquire industry-relevant skills, benefit from continuous professional development, and gain exposure to international standards.

Representing the LIA, ‘Malisebo Ntlhokoe expressed appreciation to Botho University for its commitment to upholding the institute’s professional standards. She said the partnership would promote the sustainable development of students and the wider region, while demonstrating what can be achieved when institutions work together towards a shared goal.
