From the Mohale FM bulletin dated 23.09.2026.

The African Mineral Development Centre has urged Lesotho to strengthen regional partnerships to expand trade with other African countries.

Speaking at a workshop in Lesotho, AMDC Programmes Manager Mkhululi Ncube said the Africa Mining Vision, adopted in 2009, aims to move Africa from exporting raw materials to local processing and value addition.

Ncube said Lesotho should use SADC support to influence continental decisions and increase intra-African trade through initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area.

He also called for greater coordination between the finance, trade, transport and energy sectors to support mineral processing, improve trade corridors and curb illicit financial flows.
