The Lesotho Police Staff Association (LEPOSA) has announced plans to hold a peaceful procession to the Office of the Prime Minister on the 16th of this month, to protest against unresolved issues concerning inflation adjustments and police allowances.
In an official memorandum issued yesterday, LEPOSA leadership confirmed that they have formally requested permission from the Maseru Urban District Police to conduct the march. The decision comes after the association’s repeated efforts to engage the government on these pressing matters went unanswered.
Members of LEPOSA submitted a letter to the Prime Minister’s office on February 24, 2026, highlighting concerns over declining police allowances and rising inflation, which have severely impacted officers’ livelihoods. Although the government previously indicated that the leadership would be invited for discussions, no such engagement has materialized to date.
