admin Lesotho’s Ministers of Finance and Development Planning, Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane and that of Natural Resources, Mohlomi Moleko paid a courtesy call on United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Ms. Amina J. Mohammed this week, to brief her on national development priorities.
Speaking on behalf of the Government of Lesotho, Dr. Matlanyane, who led the delegation, expressed appreciation for the UN’s continued support across different sectors. She highlighted the progress Lesotho has made in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and noted that the government is intensifying efforts to attract both foreign and local investment to scale up delivery of the 2030 Agenda.
Meanwhile, Ms. Mohammed commended Lesotho’s commitment to sustainable development, and reaffirmed the United Nations’ support for the country’s efforts to achieve the SDGs despite existing challenges and encouraged continued collaboration between Lesotho and UN agencies.
