Mohale FM Thirty-one-year-old Katleho Molibeli has been sentenced by the Free State High Court to serve twenty-five years in prison on a charge of brutally murdering his girlfriend.
The deceased was found murdered in the Hennenman area of the Free State Province, South Africa, in August 2023, after which the accused fled to his home country of Lesotho following the incident. Molibeli was also given an additional sentence of twelve months for being an illegal immigrant in that country.
During the investigation, blood-stained clothing linked to the accused was found in a nearby house. The owner of the house confirmed that Molibeli had been there shortly before fleeing to Lesotho.
Molibeli was found in Lesotho and arrested in June 2024 and was transferred to South Africa in December 2024 to stand trial.
