The Lesotho Basketball Association (LBA) yesterday received a major boost to its grassroots development programme after taking delivery of basketballs donated through the International Basketball Federation, FIBA.
LBA Public Relations Officer, Sam Motsamai, says the association has received 40 FIBA 3×3 basketballs and 250 basketballs for the traditional five-on-five format.
Motsamai says the equipment forms part of a consignment secured by LBA President Rats’olo Molupe during a FIBA meeting in Abidjan last year July, with the support of the Lesotho Sport and Recreation Commission (LSRC).
He says the basketballs will play a significant role in strengthening the development of the sport across the country.
Motsamai also expressed the association’s appreciation to the LSRC for facilitating the delivery of the equipment.
